Can't step out of the home

Is this sentence grammatically correct-

1. We can't step out of the home because of the spread of the coronavirus.

2. We can't step out of the home because of the coronavirus.

They are not exactly grammatically wrong, but I'm not sure the vocabulary is right.

1. We can't step out of the house because of the spread of the coronavirus. :ok:

2. We can't step out of the house because of the coronavirus.
:ok:

Unless you are talking about something like an "old-people's home", in which case your sentences are ok.
