Only if that's what you really think! Meaning?

Post by Hasib » Thu Apr 16, 2020 4:20 pm

Here is the conversation of a "BBC Learning English" YouTube channel's video -

Feifei = We sometimes put the word "straight" in front of "fire". Straight here means "very".

Roy = So I probably should have said your t-shirt is straight fire, then.

Feifei = Only if that's what you really think!

Could anyone please explain what is the meaning of that sentence in bold? Can I say that sentence in different ways? Please help.

I wouldn't waste your time with that BBC Learning English program because it's a load of old codswallop.

Really, I'm not joking. It's total junk with very bad teaching and learning theory.
