Subject pronoun uses.

Post by SkyFox »

hey guys, I have question about the following sentence.

The fastest man is he.
the fastest man is him.

I believe that the first sentence is correct? Because the pronoun of the subject the fastest man is following a to be verb? The reason I ask is because this sentence sounds really awkward.

After the linking verb "be", the pronoun form is:
- subject (very formal - and technically correct)
- object (informal and idiomatic)
