Sydney Jones has a lot of dreams. Her hopes are to be a president and to get her scholarship. And that's not all. She also wants to be a singer and a fashion designer.
That's a lot for any kid to hope for. But for Sydney, hope is especially important. At times, she and her family haven't had much more than hope to keep them going. Sydney and her family have been homeless. But they’re doing better now, thanks to Pictures of Hope. And last month, Sydney got a gift—a camera, to help her bring her hopes and dreams into reality.
When you take a photo of a dream, it's not just in your heart and head," photographer Linda Solomon said. “It becomes a reality. " Solomon is the driving force behind Pictures of Hope, which is a project she created to help kids who've been homeless to imagine a better future. “What I’ve learned is that these kids are hoping for things that truly matter," Solomon said. "Other children may take education for granted. But each of these kids had that on their list."
