How about use "during"?

Dear teacher,

How about this sentence?

Q: He served as conductor of the Toronto Symphony during 1965-1970.(or from 1965 to 1970).
Which one is better? or Both of them are ok??

Q: He was the owner of Nobel Prize in literature in 1982.

He won Nobel Prize in literature in 1982.
Which one may be better?
