send someone to sleep = make someone sleep through boredom

put someone to sleep = make someone unconscious with drugs or an anaesthetic

put an animal to sleep = kill an animal painlessly

Your sentence would be:

Boring movies often send me to sleep. :r:
"We are not wholly bad or good, who live our lives under Milk Wood"
prayer of the Reverend Eli Jenkins in Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas
