Sir,

Some boy or the other has stolen my pen.


This sentence is wrong. Here article "The" with other is wrong

but Why ?
Please make it clear to me.

The appropriate expression is [some NP or other], meaning simply 'some unknown NP'.
'The' never occurs in this construction.
