A meaning 2

Post by pdh0224 »

Dear teacher,

How the Broadway production might be affected remains to be seen, but Mr. Thoday also confirmed that the show was nearly $7 million short of its planned $11 million Broadway capitalization after it, too, had a major investor pull out. He also said that the musical's bawdy sequences and pointed attacks on organized religion were concerns to some potential investors. But Mr. Thoday said he still believed that the show would make it to New York next year.

Q : "make it to New York" means that the show will succeed in playing in New York OR the show will play in New York although he doesn't know whether the show will succeed or not?

'Make it TO ...' means 'manage to reach...'. ('Make it IN...' , on the other hand, would mean 'be a success in...').
