measurements??

Post by 94BANSHEE »

hi. i was wondering, why do we say

"5 foot 10" when we talk about our height??
why not "5 feet 10" ?? or is it correct both ways?

Also when we say it like this:

I'm 5 feet, 10 inches tall" its not written like "foot"

can you say "I'm 5 foot, 10 inches tall" ?

thanks

Colloquially, some measurement words (including 'foot') remain singular even when preceded by a number greater than one.
