adjective

Post by hanuman_2000 »

Sir,

I have to convert the noun "friend" into adjective.

First I thought that it might be "friendly".

But when I refer a dictionary ,I found "friendless".

the "Friendly" was written as adjective seprately.

I am bit confused about derieved "adjective" from noun and adjective itself.

Is there any rule to find out which one is derived from noun and which one adjective itself.

Thanks.

Both 'friendly' and 'friendless' derive from the noun 'friend', but 'friendly' has the simplest and most direct relation with the original noun, and so is that which we would normally term the 'adjective form' of 'friend'.
