3.Yes, he is.
4.Yes, she is.

'This' would not be repeated in the response, especially a short one such as this: it is typically used once, and therafter replaced by 'it'. 'He' or 'she' would be used only in response to the same (respective) pronoun used in the question (Is he your friend?) - a somewhat unlikely form for the question in the first place.
