i. By selecting the judges rigorously, the decisions will give general satisfaction.

and how should I analyse this mistake?

I can neither correct nor analyse this, since I can't even guess what it's meant to mean. As it stands, it is nonsense, since it effectively says that 'the decisions will select the judges'!
