bail?

Post by Blanket »

In a show, a boy and a girl are talking about another boy. A boy said "He bailed on her(another girl) to help you with your algebra homework." I looked up the word "bail", means to obtain freedom. If this is the meaning, this sentence dosen't make any sence. You have any idea what is the meaning of this sentence?
