Dear Alan,

***MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR***

Please help me check and the Sentences below which are CORRECT and INCORRECT and explain why CAN'T we use the sentence like that.

1a. There is a man WHO STANDS there everyday.
1b. There is a man STANDS there everyday.

2a. There is a man WHO IS STANDING there everyday.
2b. There is a man STANDING there everyday.

3a. There was a man WHO LIVED there.
3b. There was a man LIVED there.

4a. There was a man WHO WAS LIVING there.
4b. There was a man LIVING there.

5a. There was a man LIVE there.

6a. There were a lots of people WHO WERE INJURED in this
tidal waves.
6b. There were a lots of people WERE INJURED in this tidal
waves.
6c. There were a lots of people INJURED in this tidal waves.

Incorrect sentences are 1b, 3b, 5a & 6b.

Please check the 'lessons' section on relative clauses, which should explain why.

You're welcome to return here with specific questions after that, but please restrict yourself to one or two sentences per post!
