Dear teacher,

Could you please correct these 2 sentences for me? Thanks.

1. It was suggested going to school by bus instead of on foot whenever there (is/was) a phyical education class in the afternoon.

2. It was suggested that we go to school by bus instead of on foot whenever there (is/was) a phyical education class in the afternoon.

#2, with 'was'.
