Hello,
Here's a quatation from Truman Capote:
"... a timid, pious, delicate girl named Bonnie Fox, who was three years younger than he."

Should not it be "... younger than him"? If so, may be there's some literary zest in using "he" instead of "him"?

No, 'he' is quite correct, although 'him' would be considered acceptable by most speakers.
