further one's study / studies

Post by kwfine »

Dear teachers,

Jan recently told me in the email that she is going to
"further my study at ABC college in the US".

Should the noun Study be plural or singular in the above case?
And,
is it correct to write "further one's study" ?
If not, could you tell us some formal words which mean "further one's study"?

Thank you.
