The vast majority of adjectives are descriptive: they are those that denote a quality of the referent, such as 'big, red, happy', etc.
A small minority, however, are determinative, consisting of more 'functional' words, e.g. demonstratives such as 'this/that' or quantifiers such as 'much, many, few'.
