Hello,
I would like to ask whether it is grammatically correct to write both:
a) I wish we didn't have a test today.
b) I wish we would not have a test today.
If both are correct, could you give me an explanation where is the difference or whether those are interchengable.
And additionally, I'd like to know if it is true that after wish you cannot use would + verb if it is a stative verb.

(a) is correct here.
No, it is not entirely impossible to have a stative verb with 'would' after 'wish', e.g.
I wish you WOULD BE quiet.
That said, however, it is relatively rare.
