Is the comma between 'team' and 'you' inappropriate because the saying, '' You had 7 warning points at the time'', can start a sentence on it's own?
Or is it correct because the line that says, '' you had 7 warning points at the time'', counts as extra info, so commas are appropriate to use?

The use of commas to separate a connected series of main clauses such as this is not at all unusual in contemporary usage, although traditionalists would prefer a semi-colon rather than a comma between 'team' and 'you'.
