A question about "each other" and "to each other"

Post by krlytz »

I made an asigment recently where I had to describe some pictures. One of those pictures was M. C. Escher's "Drawing Hands", and while describing it, I wrote "the hands are drawing each other". My teacher corrected this, saying it should be "drawing to each other"

I don't think that "to" is correct there, since what each hand is drawing is the other hand. "Drawing to each other" sounds more like each one is making a different drawing meant for the other (like a present or something)

So who is right? Me or my teacher? If I'm wrong please tell me why. Thank you for your help! ^^

If they are drawing pictures, then no 'to'!
