Can I use "impart" in formal or academic writing?

Post by hardworker »

In speaking, I think you can say the following sentence.

(1) Angels bring happiness to everyone in the world.

In formal or academic writing, does it make sense to replace "bring" with "impart"?

(2) Angels impart happiness to everyone in the world.

Formal words are generally avoided in daily conversations. I think the verb, to impart, is pretty formal. Does it work in (2)?

Please explain it. Thanks a lot.
