Hi Alan,
Can you tell me why the word order in these sentences are different if it's: style - colour - noun? Is it because "dark" isn't a colour?
She has curly red hair.
She has dark curly hair.

These rules of adjective order are subject to minor variations, even among natives.
'Dark' and 'light' are, as you suspect, not treated exactly the same as simple colour adjectives.
