Usage of the definite article

Do you mind clearing up some confusion for me? I am stuggling with the proper usage of the definite article. For instance, I recently found myself wondering in the following situation. Me and my friend went shopping to the supermarket a day ago. There we came across a number of plastic laundry baskets on legs, all of which seemed almost the same but different in color. My friend decided to buy one in a few days. So, next time when we go to the store should i ask her : Are you going to buy one of those baskets with legs (or with THE! legs)? I mean, we both know the specifics of the items we are taking about. I hope I put it clear))) Feel free to correct me. Thanks in advance

In this particular case, it really doesn't matter: a native would accept either!
