Both my sister and brother have been asking me questions like this: 'How to do this?' instead of the normal: 'How do I do this?'. I keep trying to correct them but my sister said she heard a cartoon character asking questions like this. Thus, she thinks that a professional script writer wrote the question like this.

My question is: Is this the correct way of asking a question?
