swim

Post by hanuman_2000 »

Hello,

I have noticed that the 'ing-form' of the verb is usually used with the verbs of perceptions.

1.We saw him swimming across the pond.

Does swimming here a gerund or a participle?

The above sentence can be paraphrased as -

1A. We saw that he was swimming across the pond.

1B. We saw her swimming across the pond.

Are they correct? (1A , 1B)?

Thanks.
