Is "engaging" the correct word as a substitute for "working"?

Post by davidtrinh »

I am going to make up an example below.

(ex) Tom is a resourceful man, engaging mainly in the real estate industry. Every year, he makes millions of dollars in residential sales.

Can I use the word "engaging" as a substitute for "working"? Please help me. Thanks.
