The teacher asked me if I was not
ashamed of what I did.
What is wrong here?
I understand that 'ashamed of someone' happens generally, like ashamed of myself. But here what should be the correction so that the meaning remains the same?

Strictly speaking,. 'had done' would be preferable, although conversationally most speakers would accept this as written.
