Postby navi » Fri May 19, 2017 6:00 am

Can one use:
1) My brother, in London, calls me up every week.

instead of:
2) My brother, who is in London, calls me up every week.

Can one use:
3) The French Revolution, in 1789, was a turning point in European history.
instead of:
4) The French Revolution, which took place in 1789, was a turning point in European history.

Can one use:
5) The First World War, from 1914 to 1918, led to much death and destruction.
instead of:
6) The First World War, which took place from 1914 to 1918, led to much death and destruction.

Gratefully,
Navi.
