Verb + verb (omit)

Post by Rustamsher »

Hello Alan!

(1) Oliver omitted to mention that he was married.
(2) We omitted discussing the new Smith account during the meeting.
(3) His new girlfriend had omitted to tell him she was married.

I have seen the sentences above in various articles on the Net.
Which form is grammatically correct: omit TO DO or DOING?

Thanks.

Normally, as your examples illustrate, omit to SAY/TELL (i.e. with verb of reporting), but, otherwise omit DOING smth. can be used
