We each ate... vs We ate ... each

I am going to make up two similar sentences below.

(1) We each ate two pieces of fruit at the party.

(2) We ate two pieces of fruit each at the party.

Does the placement of "each" change the meaning of the sentence? Thank you very much for your help.
