Extremely seriously

Post by Brahman »

Dear teachers,

Is the following first sentence semantically and syntactically right? I thought it isn't: I find the placement of two adverbs together rather jarring; maybe I am wrong:

"We take extremely seriously any attempt to intimidate our staff either by verbal or physical abuse.

"Offenders are liable to prosecution and may be imprisoned or fined."

Thank you very much, again.

No, but the error lies elsewhere:

We take extremely seriously any attempt to intimidate our staff either by verbal or BY physical abuse.
