Hello,

I am confusing between the following two sentences, which one is correct? can anyone help me to figure out it?

I had unable to log in the client's VPS via RDP. V/S I was not able to log in to the client's VPS.

If possible also provide the reason.

As written, only the second is grammatical.
The alternative is 'I had BEEN unable...'
