Present Continuous

Hello,
Could someone please explain to me why in this sentence the present continuous goes with a simple present verb...
"I'm not going to tell you who I suspect." - I know that "I'm not going..." is the present continuous.
Why isn't it "I'm not going to tell you who I'm suspecting." - Why do we use "suspect"? A verb in the simple present.
I know you could say "I'm not going to tell you who I'm thinking about." So in this case you use "thinking" not "think." So why isn't it "suspecting" instead of "suspect."
All feedback and input is appreciated!
