Which one is the correct?

Post by jasonlearner »

Hi,

When I took an Online English class five minutes ago, and the teacher was old guy and was wearing glasses and so on, which sentence is the correct way to describe the teacher?

1. I finished an online English class five minutes ago, and the teacher was a old guy who had a long white mustache.
2. I finished an online English class five minutes ago, and the teacher is a old guy who has a long white mustache.

Yes, of course, I met him five minutes ago, so the event happened in the past, but the teacher is sill alive now. So, I think when I describe him, I should use present tense because he's still alive and he still has a long white mustache.
I'm confused about this....

Both are grammatically possible, but #1 would be more normal.
