Dear teachers,

May I know whether both the following sentences are natural? Are they in use today in the UK?

1. I am sorry for my informing you so late.

2. I am sorry for informing you so late.

Both sentences are technically "correct".

#1 might be used in a very formal setting.

#2 is natural and in use today in the UK/US.
