Using of in possession.

Hello Alan,

Can you tell me why I should say “the walls of the house” and not “the house walls” and also “the living room window” and not the “the window of the living room”.

I'm afraid there is no absolute rule to guide you here, only convention. "House walls" is not impossible, but is more the kind of expression that a builder would use rather than an ordinary person. Conversely, "window of the living room" is equally not impossible, but rather unidiomatic. Generally speaking, regarding rooms in a house, the attributive noun construction (bedroom door, kitchen table, etc.) tends to predominate.
