Adverb clauses in adjective clauses

Post by JackLovesEng »

Hello fellow teachers of EnglishClub,

this question has been in my mind for a while.
If we use an adverb clause in an adjective clause, what pronoun shall we use in the adverb clause or shall we use any at all?
Example: You are the person who makes me smile when I see
Should it be "when I see them" or "when I see" is just correct? Or is there any other correct answer?

I appreciate your help, thank you
(Sorry for any flaws in my English)

You need an object pronoun for the construction to be grammatically complete.

Whether 'them' or 'him/her' is the more appropriate choice is a separate matter...
