Balkan Data Visualization / Balkans Data Visualization

Post by Balkansdv » Thu Nov 19, 2020 8:50 am

What is the correct form of possessive determiner in this case, Balkan or Balkans? Google results are not helping much with this, it doesn't seem consistent.

The basic possessive determiners are:
my, your, his, her, its, our, their

Can you give some examples of what you are trying to say regarding Balkan/s?

I made a mistake there, don't know what was I thinking. My bad, sorry.

To make things simpler, I have a few examples:
Balkan(s) statistics
Balkan(s) report (e.g. Balkan(s) economic report)
Balkan(s) data (e.g. Balkan(s) data portal)

What is the correct form in these cases, "Balkan" or "Balkans"?

Also, I've found this:
https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eudataviz

If I would like to put Balkan(s) instead of EU - should it be Balkans DataViz or Balkan DataViz?

When using a proper noun as a modifier, we most typically do not change its form (cf. a Shakespeare play, a Beatles record, etc.).

Thus, the most logical choice would be e.g. a Balkans economic forecast to mean 'an economic forecast relating to the Balkans'.
