after Joyce

1) We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that these novelists were writing after Joyce.

Is that sentence ambiguous?

a) They were writing in a period of time that came after Joyce. They were post-Joyceian, so to speak.

b) They were writing in the style of Joyce.

Gratefully,
