word choice [register] in "register my name'

Post by ansonman »

I have made up the example below.

(ex) There are so many people waiting for tables in the restaurant. I need to register my name on the waitlist for a table.

Is it correct to use "register" in my example? Thank you very much.

We would say simply 'add my name to the waiting list'.
