IF "inversion" // Is it possible to say this way?

Post by Ericssssq »

Is it okay to convert this given sentence to the next version?

"If I lived in America, I could hang out with Benji."
->"Did I live in America, I could hang out with Benji." to mean the first sentence.

and what about this?

If he studied harder, he could improve his grade up to A.
-> Did he study harder, he could improve his grade up to A.

*I know this is different from "If I had lived in America, I could've hung out with Benji." So, I'm not asking about "Had I lived in America, I could've hung out with Benji."

I really appreciate your help in advance.
