Amendment of errors

Post by tamguatlay »

1. At the present time, there are many people suffering from the novel coronavirus outbreak.

2. Presently, many people are suffering from the novel coronavirus outbreak.

I have made amendments to the first sentence, as shown in the next sentence. Are there errors in the second sentence? If there are none, can the sentence be improved?

Thanks!

At the present time, many people are suffering as a result of the novel coronavirus outbreak.

('Presently', while possible in AmE, is not preferable to 'at the present time'.)
