Used Came or Went
So i was texting my girlfriend on the phone and she sent me a text saying "i came to get food" i have no context of where shes at. I corrected her and said " its, I went to get food" am I wrong or...? I feel when you say "I came to get food" you're directly telling someone to there face and you're just showing up or like you've been standingin line and you're telling someone in line. I must be thinking way too hard, it just doesn't seem correct.

Re: Used Came or Went
Not really a grammar issue but...
If she CAME to the place where you are, it's "came". If she WENT to some other place, it's "went"!
