According to Cambridge Dictionary, to scorn means to have a very strong feeling of no respect for someone or something that you think is stupid or has no value.
I have made up the two sentences below.
(1) Some people scorn janitors. (verb applied to someone as given in the definition)
(2) Some people scorn janitorial jobs. (verb applied to something)
Am I using the verb correctly? Thank you very much.
