a. That scene in my dream felt like my mind was trying to convince me everything was fine.
b. That scene in my dream felt like it was my mind trying to convince me everything was fine.
Are the above sentences grammatically correct and meaningful?
The idea is that when I remembered that scene in my dream the feeling I had was that by conjuring that scene my mind was trying to convince me everything was fine.
If the sentences are correct, what does 'it' in (b) stand for? I think it stands for 'that scene'.
Many thanks.
