Should it be "in view of" instead of "in light of"?

He also pointed out that even if the decision to terminate Ms Kala's membership has been made, disciplinary action would have been taken in light of her actions regarding the public incident.

Should it be "in view of" instead of "in light of"?
If so, what is the reason?

Thanks!

'In view of' slightly preferable in this negative context.
'In light of' tends to have a more positive, informative sense.
