Is this sentence grammatically correct?

"The farther we are away from the place, the fresher the air will be"

I thought "The farther away we are from the place, the fresher the air will be" sounds better.

which one sounds better? or which one is grammatical? Are both correct?

Both possible, but the second is more idiomatic.
