1) I wasn't afraid of walking on the bridge, because the bridge couldn't collapse.

2) I wasn't afraid of walking on the bridge, because it was impossible for the bridge to collapse.

3) I wasn't afraid of walking on the bridge, because it was impossible that the bridge should collapse.

4) I wasn't afraid that he might betray me. He was an extremely honest man and he couldn't betray me.


5) I wasn't afraid that he might betray me. He was an extremely honest man and it was impossible for him to betray me.


6) I wasn't afraid that he might betray me. He was an extremely honest man and it was impossible for him to betray me.

Which of the above sentences are grammatical?
Which are idiomatic?

Does '4' mean the same as '5' and '6'?

All grammatical and more or less natural. (However, 5 seems to b the same as 6!)
