it is up to you

Post by azz »

a. It is for you to clean the kitchen.
b. The kitchen is yours to clean.
c. The kitchen is for you to clean.

Which of the above sentences are grammatically correct and meaningful?

The idea is that it is your duty to clean the kitchen. The sentences would presumably be uttered when assignments are being given to different people.

Many thanks

All grammatically possible, although (c) is semantically strange.
